Biodiesel is a good fuel for urban applications, since glycerine, its main byproduct, can found some industrial applications avoiding it to be just one more waste to handle with. However, in the countryside, straight vegetable oil is a good option since it requires less infrastructure to be used as fuel, it can be already used pure, not requiring any expensive (and ocasionally environmentally-critical) chemical process. Removing the glycerin from the oil by the trans-estherification process (replacing it by ethanol or methanol) is also good to avoid strange smells from the exhaust smoke due to its burning, but in small villages it wouldn't be so problematic as in a bigger city because of the lacking infrastructure to reprocess the glycerin that could be disposed in a wrong way and then contributing to pollute rivers, the sea and underground water reserves in a smaller village, that also would have a less heavy traffic.

would you fit any pre-heat setup into that c240 that you intend to put into a honda legend? btw which generation and body style would you consider to retrofit with the diesel?
Actually the glow plugs already provide an easy cold start capability pero an air intake heater could already be added. For the biodiesel tank and fuel lines it would not be required, and it can already run pretty well with waste palm oil or coconut oil. A filtration system, by the other side, is almost mandatory to ensure the reliability while using waste frying oil. That centrifuge setup used in some Russian trucks seems to be a good option.
About body style and generation, I prefer the 2nd generation coupé due to its sporty look pero maybe will get a sedan because what I want is not exactly a sports car. Would be cool to show how a luxury car can be, by the other side, eco-friendly.
What's one thing you own that you should probably throw away, but never will?
An old Isuzu C-240 engine taken out of a wrecked jeep. I still wanna put it into a Honda Legend and run it on biodiesel. I can even purchase a newer engine to this project but I already like this one.

Even homebrew can be done with waste frying oil.
