I'm willing to convert my Suzuki Vitara to use either biodiesel or vegetable oils. Which would be the most suitable engines? I'm in Mandaue.

Good options could be Toyota 1L or 2L, but the most suitable would be the 2C. From Nissan there are good ones such as the CD20, and there are reports that even a TD27 would fit in the Vitara's engine bay. Isuzu also has some good options such as the 4JA1-L, and even the old C180/190/223/240 could be reasonable options. In other countries Volkswagen/Audi TDI engines are a common choice to convert Suzukis to diesel.

Feel free to question

An uncle of mine had a Vitara with the 50hp 1.6D Volkswagen engine. Top speed was around 120 to 130km/h but it could get almost more than 15km/l in city traffic and almost 20 in highway. Problem with early Volkswagen diesels is overheating because their water pump is undersized, but it's usual to see some workarounds done in these engines to reduce the temperature, but in some cases it sacrifices the power.

Makes more sense than a fockin hybrid with a gasser inside and a heavy batt pack that is a dead weight in highway driving, and full of chemical compounds that can be a pain in the ass in case of crash.

Mazda engines can also be a good option to consider. The 2.2 Perkins-designed fits like a glove.

I have a Renault Douvrin 2.1L N/A diesel in my Suzuki Vitara. I took it out of an old Renault Trafic campervan I used to have. It's not so fast but can get around and even tow a small camper trailer.
